From Delhi to Nakodar (410 km)

  • By Road: Take NH-44 (Delhi-Amritsar National Highway) from Delhi. Pass through Panipat, Ambala, Ludhiana. At Jalandhar, take the Nakodar road (SH-17). Nakodar is 20 km from Jalandhar city.
  • By Train: Trains from New Delhi to Jalandhar City / Jalandhar Cantt (approx. 5–6 hrs). From Jalandhar, take a bus or taxi to Nakodar (30–45 mins).
  • By Air: Fly Delhi → Amritsar or Chandigarh. Then continue by road (110–114 km to Nakodar).

From Amritsar to Nakodar (114 km)

Amritsar is an ideal entry point for international visitors arriving at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport (ATQ). The airport has direct flights from the UK, Canada, UAE, and major Indian cities.

  • By Road: Take NH-354 or NH-44 towards Jalandhar. From Jalandhar, take SH-17 to Nakodar. Total journey: approximately 2 hours.
  • By Train: Amritsar to Nakodar Junction — direct trains available on the Amritsar-Ludhiana route. Journey time approx. 2–2.5 hours.
  • By Bus: Frequent Punjab Roadways buses from Amritsar Bus Stand to Nakodar. Journey time approx. 2.5–3 hours.

From Chandigarh to Nakodar (110 km)

Chandigarh, Punjab's capital and a major hub, is approximately 110 km from Nakodar — about 2 hours by road.

  • By Road: Take NH-44 from Chandigarh towards Ludhiana, then NH-344 towards Phagwara. Continue to Nakodar from Phagwara (25 km).
  • By Bus: PRTC and Volvo buses connect Chandigarh to Jalandhar regularly. Take a connecting bus or taxi to Nakodar from Jalandhar.

From Jalandhar to Nakodar (20 km)

Jalandhar is the closest major city — just 20 km from Nakodar, roughly 30 minutes away. From Jalandhar Bus Stand or railway station, shared autos, buses, and taxis run frequently to Nakodar throughout the day.

From Ludhiana to Nakodar (50 km)

Ludhiana, Punjab's largest industrial city, is 50 km from Nakodar — approximately 1 hour by road via NH-344. Trains from Ludhiana to Nakodar Junction take about 45 minutes.

Local Transport in Nakodar

Once in Nakodar, the darbaar (Amardas Colony) is easily reachable by auto-rickshaw from Nakodar Junction railway station or the main bus stand. The journey takes about 10 minutes. During the annual mela, special transport arrangements are made by the trust.

Tips for Your Visit

  • If arriving for the Annual Mela (28–29 August), start your journey early — roads get heavily congested from the afternoon of 28 August.
  • Book accommodation in Jalandhar well in advance for the mela period.
  • The Nakodar darbaar has ample parking but it fills up quickly on mela days.
